There is no universal formula for determining how many states a country should have. Nigeria has 36 states, but why not 35 or 37? Is 36 event he ideal number?
Politically I thought the only thing we should do was to break up all those regions to ensure that no region or new states would be too big to be a threat to the unity of the country, and the fear of that domination by one particular state will no longer be a threat.
